Many patients suffer from sinus pressure/headaches and assume that it is due to stress/tension, migraines, or neck issues. These headaches are called contact point headaches (Sleuder's Neuralgia) and are very common. Note: Sinus headache pressure/discomfort can radiate to any part of the head and neck region. It is not uncommon to find that headaches/tension at the top of the head or back of head and neck are due to sinus/nasal pressure. Usually, abnormal nasal and sinus anatomy and sinus inflammation together are the cause of these headaches. Maximal medical therapy is always tried and surgery is recommended only if the patient fails this therapy. It is not uncommon for the nasal and sinus anatomical abnormalities to be subtle.
