Tinnitus

Noise in the head or ears in the form of ringing or buzzing (basically any sound) originates from the ears and is usually associated with hearing loss. An MRI of the brain or a CAT scan (CT) of the Ear/Temporal bone and neck may be required for tinnitus. If the noise is pulsating then a few more tests would be required. For nonpulsatile tinnitus, there are many products that claim to treat, but no one drug has been proven effective to date. Hearing aids may likely help, but hearing aids are prescribed for hearing loss only.
